As composer I had the opportunity to work with the ensembles Meitar, Modelo62, Musica Nova, ASKO|Schönberg, among other ensembles; and with the solo musicians John Eckhardt, Maya Felixbrodt, Jellantsje de Vries, and Chloë Abbott. My works were played at venues such as the Orgelpark (Amsterdam), Rotterdamse Schouwburg, National Philarmony (Lithuania), teatros de Canal (Madrid), Acker Stadt Palast (Berlin), and Nanko Sunset Hall (Osaka), and featured in the festival ISCM World New Music Days 2012 (Antwerp), La Escucha Errante Sonic Arts Festival (Bilbao), International Review of Composers #18 (Belgrade), and in Screendive, an online edition of the Gaudeamus 2020 festival.
As a performer (playing contrabass, and occasionally bass guitar), my focus is on improvisation and experimental music. I shared the stage with performing musicians such as Ziv Taubenfeld, Oğuz Büyükberber, Fie Schouten, MeiYi Lee, Haytham Safia, and Germaine Sijstermans. I had the chance to collaborate with composers Heiner Goebbels, Agostino di Scipio, Christian Wolff, Lula Romero, Amnon Wolman, Silvia Borzelli, Richard Rijnvos, Ruben Seroussi, and others. I had several long-standing collaborations: with Elisenda Pujals (voice), playing many programs of works composed for bass & voice; with Maya felixbrodt (viola) and Tomer Harari (computer) under the name Hatzatz, playing music for instruments, live-electronics, and live video art; and with Roberto Garretón (elect. guitar, computer), creating improvised sets for guitar, contrabass, and live electronics. I had the chance to perform in venues such as the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ (Amsterdam), LantarenVenster (Rotterdam), Q-O2 (Brussels), Sonic Arts Series (Norwich), haTeiva (Tel Aviv), and many more.
After graduating from the Royal Conservatory, The Hague, I completed my PhD at Leiden University. I presented papers in international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals.
